Readability – An Arc90 Lab Experiment

Readability™ is a simple tool that makes reading on the Web more enjoyable by removing the clutter around what you’re reading.

Apple recently upgraded their Safari web browser to version 5. One of the new features is the Safari Reader, which is based on the Apache Readability project by Arc90.

Apple lifted ‘make web go away’ button from open source

This tool will strip a web page of ads and other clutter, leaving just the core text and images. Simply add the tool as bookmarklet to a toolbar and when you want to strip a page down you just give it a click.
